Praire Fire Concerts is a non-profit organazation designed to bring christian artists in to Cheyenne and the surrounding areas. When it began in 2004 the founders thought it would be a great way for the message of Christ to be presented to the city. Over the past 6 years they found it was so much more than just getting a positive message to the city of Cheyenne. It is also a ministry to the bands who have come here. Many if not all the bands that visit Cheyenne are tired, sick, and struggling with doubt, fear and sadness. Yes, they come with a positive message and great musical talent but they carry the weight of the world too. The founders saw this in the very first concert that came to town. The bands were very open with the struggles of being on the road away from friends, family and most importantly their home church. PFC saw an opportunity to pray for and encourage the bands. A lot of us forget that these people need prayer just as much if not more because of the job they are doing. PFC is an organization that wants to put peoples needs first.
The PFC founders get together a few times a month with their families. There they have fellowship with dinner and prayer. They pray for each other and for the future and the vision of Cheyenne. The ultimate goal is to have a summer music festival in Cheyenne. PFC is not just for music but it is an outreach for prayer requests, community service and to show the love of Christ through fellowship and unity. The two founders attend different churches in town and pray that more people from other churches would join the PFC team. They believe that we are all part of one body as Christ followers. As long as Christ is the center it doesnt matter what church you attend.
Volenteers are always welcome to help with any of the things PFC does. PFC has a prayer team. They will not only pray but they are willing to meet with people and encourage them and lift their spirits. Also volenteers are always needed when a show is schedulded in town. PFC is for anyone who wants to be involved. If this is you and you want to meet the needs of our community and hang out with touring bands then please contact us. PFC puts Christ first and the reason it has continued is because of the grace of God. God inspires and guides the steps of those who follow Him. The mission is to unite our community and help people catch fire for the message and the love of Christ. The prayer of PFC is that it would never be about how many big named artists they can bring here. The prayer is that PFC would exsist as long as it honors God. The very day it becomes about numbers is the day it ends. To God be all glory and honor and praise.
